Over the years, our team has worked in different capacities on a wide variety of projects and in different roles and responsibilities. Sometimes as a c-level executive, directing a project from a to z, sometimes as a member of a consultancy team or as an interim manager. Our entrepreneurial spirit and ability to translate challenges into solutions always got the job done.

CLIENT: MATROOK GROUP

SCOPE: Complete hotel concept development, brand development, turn-key delivery, pre-opening, and operations management.

PROJECT: DOMAIN BAHRAIN

ASSIGNMENT: Develop a novel luxury hotel concept, including F&B outlets and wellness spa, that can compete with global luxury hotel brands.

APPROACH: Coordination of concept development, interior design, construction, fit-out, procurement of FF&E and OS&E, brand development, recruitment & training of team, implementation of go-to-market strategy.

OUTPUT: A 137-key, all-suite, social club hotel concept, with nine food&beverage outlets, three floors of wellness, fitness, and retail, operated by a team of butlers and domain managers, which competed successfully with The Ritz-Carlton and Four Seasons Bahrain in the luxury hotel segment of the local market.

CLIENT: KUWAIT HOTELS COMPANY

SCOPE: Implement new business strategy for Safir Hotels & Resorts - upper-upscale and luxury hotel portfolio.

PROJECT: MUDUN HOTEL CONCEPT & BRAND

ASSIGNMENT: Take the lead on implementing new business and portfolio strategy and develop clearly defined, Arabian hospitality-centric, upper-upscale hotel concept to reposition Safir Hotels & Resorts’ upscale and luxury hotel portfolio.

APPROACH: In close coordination with consultants, indepth-market research and global benchmarking was conducted to develop a comprehensive concept blueprint and new brand identity, allowing Safir to revive its portfolio and [re-]position its hotels more effectively.

OUTPUT: Concept Blueprint for “Mudun Hotels & Resorts” - an upper-upscale hotel brand. Complete brand identity and go-to-market strategy.

CLIENT: DE VECHTSE SLAG NV

SCOPE: Complete renovation of a historic, 14th century monastery and a large military hospital, followed by the transformation and operation as a luxury hotel product in the heart of the city of Utrecht in The Netherlands.

PROJECT: GRAND HOTEL KAREL V

ASSIGNMENT: Take the lead on coordinating restoration and turn-key development of the future Grand Hotel Karel V.

APPROACH: In close collaboration with consultants and the client, and based on meticulous and detailed planning, and intensive and long-term restoration began in 1997, resulting in the turn-key development of a complete hotel concept. Within this concept, the restoration team endeavored to preserve the authentic functions of the spaces as much as possible; a near-perfect match for this 14th century monastery building, offering ample opportunities for storytelling through its original architecture, choice of materials, and the development of guest experiences and brand activations.

OUTPUT: The renovated complex has since been declared a national monument. The halls of the former military hospital have been converted into hotel rooms and suites in a classical style (Napoleonic wing). In 200, the garden wing was restored and renamed the Roman wing, which now houses 49 modern hotel rooms and suites, as well as a luxurious spa and wellness center. Grand Hotel Karel V also features a total of 13 monumental congress- and ballroom facilities, an a-la-carte fine-dining restaurant, a brasserie and a cellar bar.

CLIENT: CORENDON HOTELS & RESORTS

SCOPE: Induction of The College Hotel under Marriott’s Autograph Collection brand.

PROJECT: THE COLLEGE HOTEL AMSTERDAM

ASSIGNMENT: Interim management role to coordinate the preparation of the physical hotel and its human resources for a successful induction into the Autograph Collection hotel brand of Marriott.

APPROACH: Physical renovation and upgrading works to ensure that the hotel meets global hotel standards. Coordinating the interior design works with renowned interior design firm Studio Piet Boon.

OUTPUT: Successful integration of The College Hotel within the Autograph Collection brand.

CLIENT: VILLA ENCANTADO

SCOPE: Development and exploitation of a limited-hotel-services Bed & Breakfast villa product on the island of Curacao.

PROJECT: VILLA ENCANTADO CURACAO

ASSIGNMENT: Complete renovation and fit-out of a 6-bedroom villa, configuration of reservations platform and implementation of marketing plan

APPROACH: Physical renovation and upgrading works to ensure that the villa meets international guest expectations. Configuration of booking platform and setting up connectivity with booking channels. Manning of the villa and training of Villagistes.

OUTPUT: Successful hotel operation under Hocrea management since December 2023.
